Welcome to River Lore! My name is Pamela Ryder and I am the content creator for River Lore.

The inspiration for River Lore and The East Haddam Mystery Tour map comes from a long love of outdoor travel, paranormal interests and my hometown's many legends and lore.

In 2020, I approached a local East Haddam resident and artist named Kristin Haddad of Killustrate Designs. I wanted to create a printable map with icon pins of some of locations known for their legendss in town. I gave my list and she conjured the artwork that you will see over on my blog page. Kristin hand painted every icon in beautiful detail beyond my expectations. She also provided a legend to accompany the map and we called it The East Haddam Mystery Tour.

The map is a one of a kind look at our little town and I appreciate the vision she had to capture our spooky past. It was her artisitc masterpiece that inspired me to create the blog with the accompanying stories.

The hope is that those interested in visiting our bucolic town of East Haddam will take the map and go wandering. Enjoy a walk and learn the lore of the area!

The River Lore blog won't stop at East Haddam. This river boat plans to visit many locations along the Connecticut River and it's vast watershed that goes from Connecticut to the border of Canada. We are in search of all things spooky, telling the tales one port at at time.

I currently reside in East Haddam with my husband Tim, and our two free range bunnies, Benjamin and Nigel.

The only thing that haunts this house is them!

I am a collector of supernatural stories, so if you know of a legend or paranormal story that took place along the Connecticut River from Connecticut to New Hampshire please email me at ctriverlore@gmail.com or hit the Let's Chat button on this page!

Thank you for joining me here and

happy haunted trekking!
